When I perform my comedy ventriloquism show, I have a deep appreciation for venues where the lighting is professional and the audience can sit back and enjoy the comedy and some of the song parodies.
In Boise, Idaho, at Boise State, there is a performance venue that fits that bill: Morrison Center (officially named the Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts). As I plan which shows I have coming up, this is one place I’m seriously considering.
A lot of people I know have never even visited Idaho. They’ve heard of Sun Valley (which isn’t very far away), Boise (of course), and people who are well-versed in beautiful places to retire are extremely familiar with Coeur d Alene (where my sister, her husband and their two dogs live).
My brother used to live in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, which is a hop, skip and a jump away from Idaho Falls, Idaho.
As much as I’d like to entertain using ventriloquism at any one of the aforementioned cities, I think Boise is my best bet because of it’s large population (approx. 600,000 if you include the 5 counties’ metropolitan area).
A close friend of mine grew up on a dairy farm about an hour away from Boise, and is a huge Boise State fan. I just generally like the people in the area and think it’ll be a blast!
If you can think of a better performance theater to perform comedy, please let me know.
I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming show!
