Corporate Entertainer wins Terry Fator Ventriloquist contest

Last night I was shocked to find out I won the Terry Fator ventriloquist scholarship contest!

instagram-terry-fator-imageIf at first you don’t succeed, try try again…

In my case, I didn’t succeed the first time I entered in 2011, so I took another crack at it in 2016…

My video submission included me driving in the car with one of my ventriloquist puppets and asking some women in Los Angeles for driving directions.. To Canada.

They laughed hysterically, and it made for a fun, short video clip.

Apparently, Terry Fator and crew were amused too. Halelujah!

I’ll receive free admission to the upcoming VentHaven International Ventriloquist Convention in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky (just outside of Cincinnati, Ohio), plus:

  • a check for $2,000 to be used toward travel expenses
  • $350 credit toward Axtell Expressions Inc. professional ventriloquism puppet
  • free membership to Ventriloquist Tom Crowl’s excellent ventriloquism course (I’m already a member, so in my case I’m being awarded some other great freebies)

If I remember correctly, the value is approximately $3,000 total for winning, plus it adds exposure to my entertainment business in the long-term.

My hope is that this will ultimately benefit Las Vegas Singer / Ventriloquist Terry Fator’s ticket sales.  How?

By attending the Convention, I’ll probably improve my show business skills in ways I didn’t even anticipate.  As a result, corporate entertainment clients will appreciate my shows even more..

When they’re in Las Vegas next, or when Terry Fator is in their city, they’ll be more prone to acquire tickets to his show due to the great experience they had at mine…

Hopefully it’ll be a win-win!
